<note>

The Liquiline CM442 features non-contact digital **Memosens technology**. Sensor calibration data is stored inside the
sensor head itself, allowing pre-calibration in the lab before rapid plug-and-play installation in field operations
without re-calibrating at the transmitter.

</note>

## Executive Summary & Core Capabilities

The **Endress+Hauser Liquiline™ CM442** is an extensible 1- to 2-channel field transmitter designed for continuous
liquid analysis across all process industries. Powered by non-contact inductively coupled **Memosens digital
technology**, the CM442 automatically identifies connected sensors, loads calibration parameters, and initiates
measurement immediately.

**Modular Architecture:** The CM442 basic platform includes 2 Memosens inputs and 2 current outputs. Additional plug-in
extension modules allow field engineers to scale current outputs up to 8, add relay channels, or integrate industrial
fieldbus protocols without replacing the transmitter base.

- **Plug & Play Sensors:** Connect any Memosens liquid analysis sensor and the controller auto-configures instantly
without manual programming.
- **Pre-Calibrated Lab Swaps:** Sensors can be calibrated in a laboratory, then carried into the field and swapped in
seconds without stopping transmitter power.
- **Weatherproof Enclosure:** Outdoor-ready IP66/IP67 enclosure built to handle rain, dust, and temperature swings in
harsh plant environments.

The Liquiline CM442 4-wire controller manages 1 or 2 Memosens channels concurrently. It converts sensor signals
inductively at the sensor head, eliminating interference from moisture, corrosion, or ground loops.

It supports up to 12 parameters: pH, redox/ORP, ISFET, conductive/inductive conductivity, dissolved oxygen, nitrate,
turbidity, free chlorine, and sludge level. Data logging and backup configuration files are handled via an integrated SD
card reader. Communication options include PROFIBUS DP, Modbus RS485, Modbus TCP, and Ethernet.
